MSC| Kodiaks and Rattlers Tie in Home Opener Highway 3 Rivalry

The Kodiaks looked to come out on top as they face off against the MHC Rattlers in the 2022 home opener.

The 1st half of the match was a consistent back-and-forth battle between the Rattlers and the Kodiaks as both teams were generating good scoring chances while still staying tight on defense to try to keep this game from getting away from one team or another.

The tie is broken at the 15-minute mark as the Rattlers #23 Arlind Musliu is able to connect on a deflection to beat the Kodiaks goaltender and make it 1-0. Minutes later MHC strikes again as #12 Mizuki Ozawa increases the Rattler's lead to 2-0.

Kodiaks regain the momentum as Kodiaks #23 Daniel Okpala cuts the deficit in half in the final minutes of the half to give the Kodiaks some hope to bounce back now that they are back in the game headed into halftime with a score of 2-1 Rattlers.

The Kodiaks looked to build off the momentum they generated at the end of the 1st half, but the Rattlers proved themselves to be tough defensively as both teams looked to take hold of the game. After a slow 2nd half the Kodiaks are able to clutch up and tie the match at 2 a piece after a header from Lethbridge Kodiaks #7 Hayden Devoy. In the dying minute, the Rattlers scored thinking that was the ball game only for the call to be overturned due to offside leaving the match with a 2-2 finish in the highway 3 rivalry.
