Women's Volleyball TKU Eagles v. UOFAA Vikings

On January 25, the King's University Eagles Women's basketball team took on the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings at The King's University gymnasium at 6:00 pm. 

 

In the first set, the Vikings started strong with contributions from Brooke McBride, who recorded a tip-point, and Mikenna Wildebaur, who added a kill. Hadley Ziemmer followed up with two kills, while Phaedra Bruens also had a tip-point and a kill. Taryn Watson and Grace Haws chipped in with one kill each. However, the Eagles, led by Jolene Cooke with nine kills, took control of the set. Sydney Seida contributed with one kill and one ace, and Brooke Risselada added three kills. Despite strong efforts from the Vikings, the Eagles held on to win 25-23.

 

In the second set, the Eagles maintained momentum, with Sydney Seida standing out with five kills, one block, and one tip point. Leah Aukema added a block, while Brooke Risselada had a kill and Emma Scherle contributed three kills and one tip point. Mikenna Wildebaur and Hadley Ziemmer made notable plays for the Vikings, with Wildebaur securing one kill and two aces, and Ziemmer recording one kill. But the Eagles dominated this set, winning 25-10.

 

In the third set, the Vikings fought hard, with Phaedra Bruens contributing two kills and one tip point, and Cassandra Kilinger adding an ace. Lainley Granley and Taryn Watson each had one kill. However, the Eagles' defense was too strong, as Sydney Seida added three kills, Brooke Risselada chipped in with two, and Emma Scherle was a force with two blocks. The Eagles closed out the match with a 25-17 victory, completing the sweep.
