SAIT Trojans Dominate Keyano Huskies in Round-Robin Match

Lloydminster, AB - The SAIT Trojans delivered a dominant performance in their ACAC Women's Futsal Championships round-robin match, overwhelming the Keyano Huskies.
SAIT set the tone early in the match, applying aggressive pressure and stifling Keyano's offensive efforts. The Huskies struggled to break through, but SAIT's defense remained impenetrable. The Trojans broke the deadlock in the first half when Tiona Paton found the net at 20:09, putting SAIT up 1-0.
Energized by their opening goal, SAIT increased their intensity. At 16:25, Nikki Charlton displayed complex footwork before slotting home an impressive goal, extending the lead to 2-0. Despite several saves by Keyano's goalkeeper and Natalie Orellana, including a crucial block on Paton, the Trojans maintained their momentum. A rebound goal by Rachelle O'Leary, assisted by Paton, made it 4-0 as the teams headed into halftime.
The second half saw SAIT maintain their high-pressing strategy, denying Keyano any significant possession. At 20:50, Fallows intercepted the ball and scored an unassisted goal to increase the lead to 5-0.
Moments later, Isabel Vega capitalized on a brilliant assist from Charlton, scoring to push the score to 6-0 at 18:20. Despite a few attempts by Keyano to break through, SAIT's defense remained impenetrable.
The Huskies finally broke through at 7:10, with Orellana scoring their only goal of the game, but it was too little, too late, losing 8-1.
With the match winding down, a yellow card for Orellana at 43 seconds left didn't affect the result. When the final whistle blew, SAIT walked away with a 9-1 victory in their round-robin game.
Fallows and Orellana were the POG's.
