RDP Queens and LPK Men Capture First at Running Room Grand Prix #2

Red Deer, AB - The Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Queens and Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks Men's team set the bar high at the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Indoor Track Running Room Grand Prix #2 held at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.
The RDP Queens placed first (68 points) on their home track. The Kodiaks (72 points) led the Men's Division by 32 points.
The Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks Women's team (44 points) was second, and the Concordia University Thunder Women (33 points) followed in third. The SAIT Trojans Men (40 points) solidified second place. The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings ranked third (33 points).
There were many notable individual and relay performances. The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens (Alissa Berwick, Eiley Morrison, Kammy Park and Loami Rautenbach) earned the top spot in the women's 4x200m relay (1:51.47). The Queens (Justine Larson, Rautenbach, Myah Cota and Zoey Longman) recorded the fastest time in the 4x400 m relay (4:14.82).
SAIT's Kerigan Frampton won the women's 600 m (1:40.31) and 1,000 m finals (3:05.83). In the women's 1,500 m, Ashlee Walker, who represented Concordia University of Edmonton, had the fastest time (5:05.59). Medicine Hat's Madison Scrimger solidified first in the women's 3,000 m final (11:07.23).
The Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks Men's team (Ethan Grasmeyer, Sebastian Davie, Jonah Hennig and Tyler Wiebe) sealed first in the 4 x 200 m relay (1:37.19). The Kodiaks (Wiebe, Hennig, Owen Stewart and Conner Van Den Hoek) also won the men's 4 x 400 m relay.
Lethbridge Polytechnic's Owen Stewart wrapped up top spot in the men's 600 m (1:25.27) and 1,000 m finals (2:35.81). In the men's 1,500 m, RDP's Jordan Coen was first (4:28.47). Ethan Grasmeyer, from Lethbridge Polytechnic, won the men's 3,000 m final (9:28.38).
From Lethbridge Polytechnic, Hunter Graves finished the Mixed 300 m Dash Wheelchair Open in 1:12.81.
Lethbridge Polytechnic will host Running Room Grand Prix #3 on Saturday, March 1.
