Men's Volleyball TKU Eagles v. LAKE Rustlers
On January 31, the King's University Eagles Men's volleyball team took on the Lakeland College Rustlers at 8:00 p.m. in the King's University gymnasium.
In the first set, the Rustlers came out strong in the opening set, with Brock Tomyn leading the charge, tallying three kills and two aces. Aiden Maier and Gaberial Bjorkas both contributed two kills each, while Noah Piggot added two kills to the mix. For the Eagles, Tyler Fredlund recorded one kill and one block, and Landen Roznowski had one ace and two kills. Despite a valiant effort from the Eagles, the Rustlers held on to win the set 25-22.
In the second set, the Rustlers kept the pressure, with Aiden Maier recording one block, while Gaberial Bjorkas added two more kills. Declan Mercer contributed with one block, and Noah Piggot had two kills. Brock Tomyn continued his strong play with one ace and two kills. The Eagles fought back, with Spencer Mayerle impressing with four kills and Tyler Fredlund adding three of his own. However, despite the Eagles' efforts, the Rustlers took the set 25-22.
In the third set, the Rustlers closed out the match in a commanding fashion. Noah Piggot led with two kills, while Declan Mercer added one kill and a block. Brock Tomyn continued his standout performance with two kills and one ace. Nathan Espetveidt was a force defensively, registering two blocks and one kill, and Camern Craft contributed with one kill. The Eagles struggled to keep up, with Brodie Schutz adding two kills and one block, but it wasn't enough as the Rustlers cruised to a 25-12 victory in the final set.
With high liveliness in the gym's atmosphere, both teams did a fantastic hardworking job in today's game.
