MSOC| Trojans Sweep the Kodiaks in Thanksgiving Weekend Showdown
Kodiaks looked to increase their win streak to 3 as they battled against the Trojans
The Trojans didn't waste any time getting right into their game putting the offensive pressure on the Kodiaks leaving them trying to do whatever they could to fight back. Kodiaks goalkeeper Trey Lukye bailed his team out after a beautiful save to keep the game scoreless. Not long after the Trojans got a lucky bounce which led to the first goal of the game by Trojans #9 Brock Mitchell assisted by #7 Nicolas Gonzalez. Not long after, the Trojans Nicolas Gonzalez capitalized on a penalty kick which beat the Kodiaks goalkeeper to put them up 2-0.
Despite all the Kodiaks efforts to find the back of SAIT's net, they were unable to close the margin in the 1st half but successfully prevented any more scoring as Kodiaks goalkeeper Trey Luyke continued to stand on his head before the half ended with a score of 2-0 for the Trojans.
The Trojans continued to put the pressure on the Kodiaks keeping the majority of play in the Kodiaks zone, although Lethbridge has managed to squeeze through for a couple of solid attempts of getting onto the board but have fallen short, despite Lethbridge's lack of offensive they stayed tight on defense to prevent any more goals.
The Trojans caught a break after getting a free kick off of a yellow card from Lethbridge which led to a scramble in front o the Kodiaks net, but SAIT found the ball first and put it into the back of the net up their lead to 3-0, which was quickly followed up by another goal by Trojans #11 Kwasi Oteng making the score 4-0 SAIT.
The Trojans held on right until the end keeping the Kodiaks off the scoreboard as time ran out leaving the final score 4-0 for the SAIT Trojans.
