EAGLES Take On OOKS In Season Home Opener

EDMONTON, AB - The King's University Eagles men's team took on the visiting NAIT Ooks on Friday to open their ACAC season. A heated and tightly contested match with a scoreline of 3-1 for the visiting NAIT Ooks.

The first half was nothing but both teams fighting for positions that they could capitalize on. Tight defence on both sides made it difficult for either team to put one away, until, in the last 20 seconds of added time, #11 Rosedeep was able to make a run and send a perfect through ball for #15 Noah Bilodeau to send the ball to the back of the net, making the score at the end of the first half 1-0 Kings.

The second half had more to offer in the sense of goals scored, just 3 minutes in the NAIT Ooks were able to answer as #10 assisted #13 Matthew Zima for their first goal of the game. 10 minutes later around 30 to go in the second half, #2 of the NAIT Ooks assisted a goal to #9 Ousman Maheshe and the Ooks took the lead. As both teams continued to fight it out, the Ooks were able to add another goal to their tally, again assisted by #10 and scored by #8 Prithirab Roy. The momentum seemed as though it was going all to the Ooks but the Eagles stood their ground and did not lose control of the game. They were right in it still fighting and making balls to hopefully change the outcome before the game was over.

Although the scoreline may show a dominant performance from the Ooks it was far from it, unfinished chances by the Eagles were the reason for this game's ending. A 3-1 win for the NAIT Ooks in this season-starting game between the King's Eagles and the NAIT Ooks.
