MSOC I Kodiaks Shut Out Broncos 2-0!

MSOC I Kodiaks Shut Out Broncos 2-0!

Oct. 6,2019 - Lethbridge College Kodiaks hosted Olds College Broncos at The Comet Stadium in Raymond, Alberta Sunday due to poor field conditions in Lethbridge.

The Kodiaks return home from SAIT off a 1-1 tie, leaving them tied for first in the South division with the Red Deer Kings. They lead the league with a record of 5-1-1 and look to extend their wins by one today against Olds.

Lethbridge shut out Olds in Sunday's match with a 2-0 win. Jimmy Bukuru opened the scoring with a clinical finish after the Kodiaks strung together three beautiful passes. Brayden Jetten confirmed their win with a wonderful volley off of Joel Arrieus' chip in.

The game began with the Kodiaks pressing the Broncos defensive half. Both teams struggled to get shots on target. In the 22nd minute, Kodiaks Easton Beaulieu found Jimmy Bukuru between two defenders, Jimmy kept composure and volleyed the ball over both defenders and shot straight into the net to open up the scoring for the Kodiaks.

The Kodiaks kept majority of the possession throughout the half. In the 43rd minute, the Kodiaks increased their lead. Scooby Jetten was found unmarked by Joel Arrieus as he shot the ball low on the left side to give the Kodiaks the 2-0 lead.

The Broncos fought hard to try and catch up with the Kodiaks in the second half, but they were unsuccessful, allowing the Kodiaks to take the win with a final score of 2-0.

With this win, Lethbridge keeps their spot up top in the South division. Join us next weekend as we host the Medicine Hat Rattlers. Women's game begins at noon, with men following after the women's game.
