Grand Prairie Wolves shutout Augustana Vikings

Grand Prairie Wolves shutout Augustana Vikings

Camrose, AB - The Augustana Vikings hosted the Grand Prairie Wolves under cloudy, blue skies after previously rescheduling due to snow. Both teams had a strong showing but the Wolves came out on top with a 3-0 win.

All three of the Wolves goals were scored within a fifteen minute period of the first half. Scoring was started off with a penalty kick by Rui Vale in the twenty first minute. Nine minutes later Richard Illenseer, who was given the Player of the Game Award, converted the Wolves lead into 2-0. A couple minutes later Aiden Procter grabbed his second assist of the game, this time setting up Zac Fisher to give the Wolves a 3-0 win over the Vikings.

Constantly improving, the Augustana Vikings played a strong game and managed to get in five shots on goal. Veteran defender Johnny Johnson was awarded the Player of the Game Award on the Vikings side for, as Goalkeeper Coach Gil Bridger said, "(running) his heart out."
