The NAIT Ooks faced off against the SAIT Trojans Friday night in the NAIT Arena. The SAIT Trojans won the game 4-2.
The game started quickly between the Ooks and the Trojans. The Trojans take a penalty early in the period giving the Ooks their first power play of the night. However, the Trojan's number twelve, Brett Trentham, scored short-handed to gain an early one-goal lead over the Ooks. The Ooks didn't let the Trojans have the lead long, though, as number four Bjorn Robison scored on the power play to tie the game at one goal each.
After the first period, the game was tied 1-1 between the Ooks and the Trojans.
The second period of play between the Ooks and Trojans was a physical one between the Ooks and Trojans. At 11:09, the Trojans score their second game goal to reclaim their lead. Not long after the Ooks number ten, Garin Butler scored his team's second game goal after getting the rebound to tie the game. With less than two minutes left in the period, the Trojans score their third goal of the game with number sixteen, Zach Cox scoring and number nine, Brandon Machado, and number twelve, Brett Trentham assisting.
At the end of the second period, the Trojans lead the game 3-2.
In the third period of play, the Ooks came out hungry for a goal to tie the game. The Trojans' number eleven, Chase Miller, scored and gave his team a two-goal lead over the Ooks. The Ooks battled hard to get back but fell short.
The Trojans won the game 4-2.
