Pre-season off to a good start against visiting Voyageurs
Edmonton, AB – Concordia Thunder kicked off their pre-season against the visiting Portage Voyageurs. In this chippy match, resulting in over 50 penalty minutes, your Concordia Thunder took a commanding lead early in the 2nd and ended up taking the W 6-1.
The Voyagers opened up the scoring in the first period with a wrister from the hashmarks catching number 30 off guard. That would be the only tally of the first, even though both teams had their fair-share of man-advantage opportunities. The Thunder came out for the second ready to roll, scoring 3 quick goals in the opening 5 minutes of play. #30 Tanner McMorriston went perfect the rest of the game, tossing aside 27 shots and getting the win.
