Ooks Lose Close Game to Huskies

Friday night, the NAIT Ooks men's basketball team faced the Keyano Huskies in the first game of their two-game weekend series. The Keyano Huskies are undefeated and are first in the north, whereas the Ooks are second in the north. After an exciting game, the Huskies won 78-66.

It was an intense start to the game, with both teams having something to prove. Both teams were hungry for the ball and making impressive plays. The Huskies claimed a slight lead over the Ooks that they held tightly.

After the first quarter, the Huskies lead by 22-18.

The Ooks came out on fire in the second quarter, looking to take the lead from the Huskies. The Ooks number five, Vishal Dhillon, made a baseline three on one of his first shifts of the game. The excitement in the game continued as both teams battled for the lead. The first half ended with the Ooks winning.

At halftime, the Ooks are winning 42-34.

The intensity of the first half continued into the second half of the game. The Huskies come out of the halftime break with a vengeance. The Ooks' number seven, Griffin Lorenz, made an interception that resulted in him getting an easy lay-up. The Huskies took the lead with seconds left in the quarter.

After the third quarter, the Huskies led by one, 52-51.

In the fourth quarter, the battle continued between the Ooks and Huskies. The lead changed hands multiple times between these two teams. With less than four minutes remaining in the game, the Huskies have a 71-62 lead over the Ooks. The Ooks worked tirelessly on both offence and defence to reclaim the lead. However, it wasn't enough against the Huskies, as they won 78-66.

The players of the game were number four, Benjamin Kamba, from the Ooks and number eight, Sean-Michael Clancy, from the Huskies.
