MBB | The Kodiaks Roll Past the Broncos

MBB | The Kodiaks Roll Past the Broncos

Feb. 14, 2020 - The Lethbridge College Kodiaks hosted the Olds College Broncos at the Val Matteotti gym on Friday evening as the Kodiaks looked to extend their winning streak.

The Kodiaks rolled on from the start and never looked back. The first quarter was all Lethbridge as they started the game 20-6. The first quarter ended 32-15 for the Kodiaks. The Broncos could not find a way to stop the Kodiaks on their defensive end.

The second quarter was the same story as the Kodiak's offence was too much handle for the Broncos. Lethbridge kept composure and had key bench players come out strong. Trey Bohne and Jeff Stef had a great first half with 8 and 7 points, respectively.  Coming from big performances from Porter Jr, Thomson and Dewsbery, the Kodiaks poured 38 points in the second quarter.

The score was 70-31 at the halftime whistle in favour of the Kodiaks. Olds was determined to come out stronger in the second half and find a way to stop the Kodiaks. However, the Kodiaks defense had other plans as they still held on to a forty-point lead heading into the last quarter. The third quarter ended 96-50 for the Kodiaks.

The last quarter consisted of keeping consistency for the Kodiaks. Most of the starting line up sat due to the score which gave the younger guns a chance to shine on the court. Both Kodiaks and Broncos were basket for basket as it was more of a defensive quarter in which the game was already decided. The Kodiaks would take the contest 128-67.

The Lethbridge Kodiaks and Olds Broncos head face to face one more time this season tomorrow (Feb.15th,2020) at the Val Matteotti Gym.
