Foster Leads Clippers to Second Straight Victory

The Briercrest Clippers men's basketball team not only earned their first ACAC season victory at the Lions Den against Ambrose, but their first weekend sweep.

Another solid effort with four players in double digits pushed the Clippers to an 82-77 win over the Lions to build a win streak after breaking their seven game skid prior to the weekend.

The standout of either team was Shayne Foster, who scored 26 points from 12 of 14 shooting, plus 14 boards in 37 minutes of action. The Clippers surrendered the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the third quarter and sparingly afterwards.

The most exciting sequence for the fans was certainly the period where for 24 consecutive points were scored all from 3 point range (4 from each team)!

The Lions suffered another addition to their long injured list when starter Isaac Gray aggravated a prior injury and did not complete the first quarter. It was a group effort for the home team as Sylvan Lombo and Josh Daniel each contributed 18 points and Lion player of the game Kyle Swiednicki had 17.

The Lions have next week off into the semester break and end the fall portion of the season with a 6-4 record. The now 2-7 Clippers travel back to Calgary next weekend for a double header against the SAIT Trojans.
