2025 ACAC Badminton Championships Event Recap

Edmonton, AB - The 2025 ACAC Badminton Championship at Concordia University of Edmonton was a thrilling showcase of skill, determination, and sportsmanship. As the host institution, the Concordia Thunder welcomed the King's University Eagles, SAIT Trojans, and NAIT Ooks, creating an electric atmosphere for the highly anticipated event.

The Team Event highlighted day 1, as each institution battled to take home the 2025 ACAC Team Championship. In the semi-final event, NAIT defeated Concordia in six team matches. King's topped SAIT in their semi final matchup, taking four of seven team matches from the Trojans.

It was an Ooks vs. Eagles final, with King's winning the championship, defeating the Ooks in four of seven events. The SAIT Trojans swept Concordia for the bronze, winning all seven matches in the team event.

Day 2 focused on the individual events of the Championship, with a ticket to CCAA Nationals on the line. Here's how things finished at the end of Day 2:

 

Mixed-Doubles 

Gold: Mahdi Ahmadi + Melissa Roque (TKU)
Silver: Davis Wong + Khushi Vaniya (NAIT) 
Bronze: Om Patel + Noel Do (NAIT)

 

Women's Doubles

Gold: Ziyu Kong + Archelle Ouano (SAIT)
Silver: Noel Do + Samantha Tran (NAIT) 
Bronze: Anya Caingles + Rachel Chan (NAIT)

 

Men's Doubles

Gold: Carl Canillo + Paul Ouano (SAIT)
Silver: Raphael Motel + Jonathan Su (CUE) 
Bronze: Ray Wang + Caelen Ma (NAIT)

 

Women's Singles

Gold: Emma Tran (CUE)
Silver: Sienna Pricca (SAIT) 
Bronze: Astrea Borromeo (SAIT)

 

Men's Singles

Gold: Hossein Ahmadi (TKU)
Silver: Smit Patel (NAIT) 
Bronze: Gurmanjot Singh (SAIT)

 

Going to Nationals for ACAC are all the first and second-place finishes in the individual events. The CCAA National Championship will be held this year at The King's University from February 27th to March 1st, 2025.
