2025 ACAC Women's Futsal Players of The Year

North Female Player of the Year | JYLA ERNADIO | NAIT Ooks:
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Jyla Erandio of the NAIT Ooks has been selected as the 2025 ACAC Women’s Futsal North Player of the Year.
Jyla, a standout rookie, has made an immediate and lasting impact on the team with her skill, determination, and infectious energy. Her versatility and technical ability on the field have quickly made her one of the most influential players for the Ooks. Whether creating scoring opportunities or helping control the pace of the game, her performances have been consistently impressive. Jyla's presence has been integral to the team's success, bringing a level of play that has elevated her teammates around her.
NAIT women's futsal head coach Dhee Govender shared his admiration for Jyla's development: “Jyla's hard work and passion have truly shone through this season, and she was truly at the top of the list of most impactful players in the North this season. Her exceptional skills on the ball, goal contributions, and consistency have been pivotal in our success, and she is becoming a player who takes great pride in contributing on both sides of the ball. She is the team's comedian, karaoke star, and has helped our team reach new heights. Jyla embodies the spirit of our program and exemplifies what it means to strive for excellence, making her a deserving recipient of this honor.”
Jyla’s achievements and contributions to the Ooks women’s futsal program are a testament to her dedication, the first-year from Edmonton, Alberta will continue to be a driving force in the team’s success.
This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2025 ACAC Women’s Futsal Championship hosted by Lakeland College in Lloydminster, Alberta.
South Female Player of the Year | KEANDRA LESLIE | Medicine Hat Rattlers:
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Keandra Leslie of the Medicine Hat College has been selected as the 2025 ACAC South Female Futsal Player of the Year.
Keandra Leslie played a key role in the Rattlers’ success this season, finishing as the team’s leading scorer with 13 goals in 10 games. Her performance helped the Rattlers secure a second-place finish in the ACAC South Division. Primarily playing as a target player, Leslie showcased her finishing ability in crucial moments, including a four-goal game in the final weekend of regionals. However, she also proved to be a solid presence at the back when called upon as a defender. Her technical skills on the ball allowed the team to build plays from the back and handle high-pressure defenses.
Now in her second year, she has continued to develop into a well-rounded player. This season marks Leslie’s first appearance in the ACAC Futsal Playoffs, where she will look to continue her strong performances and make an impact for the Rattlers on both ends of the court.
Terry Ballard, Medicine Hat College Sport and Wellness Manager, said, "Keandra is an outstanding athlete and plays a very exciting brand of futsal. She has the potential to make things happen quickly on the court and direct her shot on net – either scoring herself or creating scoring opportunities for others. Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, Leslie is in her second year of the University Transfer - Science program at Medicine Hat College.
This prestigious award will be recognized at 2024-25 ACAC Female Futsal Championship hosted by Lakeland College in Lloydminster, AB.
