2025 ACAC Men's Basketball Players of The Year

Edmonton, AB (February 26, 2025) –

North Male Player of the Year | KEENAN MILLER | Keyano Huskies: 

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Keenan Miller of the Keyano College Huskies has been selected as the 2024-2025 ACAC Men’s Basketball North Division Player of the Year.  

“Keenan is one of the most efficient players we’ve had at Keyano,” Head Coach Jeremy Wielenga said. “He does it at both ends of the floor. He shows his leadership through his play each and every night.” 

The 2024 CCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament MVP turned up the heat on defenses in the 2024-25 regular  season, averaging 18.3 points per game. Starting all 20 of the Huskies’ games, Miller led them as they compiled a 17-3 record to top the ACAC’s North Division for a fifth-straight season.  

Miller also averaged 3.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and nearly a full steal on a per game basis for the Huskies. Shooting 51.3 percent from the field, 47.3 percent on three-point shots, and 83.8 percent from the foul line, all improvements from the 2023-24 season, Miller put the rest of the conference on notice. In 18 of the Huskies’ 20 games, he recorded double-digit performances.  

On November 22, 2024, Miller set a new personal single-game high with 27 points in an 82-66 win against the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks. In eight games, Miller shot 100 percent from the foul line and was good on all his three-point attempts in two separate games this season, claiming the conference’s second place ranking in three-point percentage. He was also tied for fourth in the conference in field goal and free throw percentage. 

Miller’s selection marks the fourth-straight season a Men’s Basketball student-athlete at Keyano College has won the award and the fifth win overall after Zach Alger-Waldher (2011-12), Sean-Michael Clancey (2021-22, 2022-23) and Omeechi Williams (2023-24). 

This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2025 ACAC Men’s Basketball Championship hosted by the Briercrest Clippers in Caronport, Saskatchewan from February 27 - March 1, 2025.

South Male Player of the Year | JUDE SHEPHERD-HILLS | Briercrest Clippers:

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Jude Shepherd-Hills of the Briercrest College Clippers has been selected as the 2024-2025 ACAC South Division Men’s Basketball Player of the Year. 

Jude was instrumental in leading the Clippers to a 19-1 record and first place overall in the ACAC regular season. Jude was a model of consistency throughout the season leading the Clippers in scoring with a 16.7 points per game average to go along with a team leading 10.8 rebounds per game which was 3rd best in the ACAC. Jude added 2.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game to go along with a 50.4% shooting percentage from the field. Jude received numerous player of the game awards throughout the season with his top game of the season coming on February 7th in Red Deer when he scored 35 pts on 14 of 18 shooting to go along with 16 rebounds in the Clippers 116-111 win.

“Jude has had an exceptional season and is well deserving of this reward. Jude has worked extremely hard to grow as a player, teammate and leader to be the best version of himself to help his team succeed. Jude has been a leader both on and off the court with consistently strong performances each weekend to go along with serving and providing value off the court, leading small group training sessions and developing our physical training program throughout the season. It has been an honor and a joy to be a part of Jude’s journey as his coach. I am incredibly proud of him and all his accomplishments this season but most of all I am proud of the man he is becoming.” - Head Coach Shane Sowden

Jude is a fifth year student from Saskatoon, SK graduating from the Psychology program this spring.
