2025 ACAC Badminton Coach of The Year

Edmonton, AB (February 17, 2025) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Naeem Haque's of The King’s University has been selected as the 2025 ACAC Badminton Coach of the Year.

Naeem Haque has been a pillar of ACAC badminton for years, holding the title of the longest-serving head coach in the conference. His unwavering dedication to the sport is second to none, and his influence extends far beyond his own team—he has played a vital role in developing ACAC badminton and has mentored many of the coaches now leading teams across the conference.

At the heart of Naeem’s coaching philosophy is fairness and a team-first mentality. Whether an athlete is an elite competitor or just beginning their badminton journey, he ensures that everyone is treated equally and given the same opportunities to succeed. His ability to foster a positive and inclusive environment has been the foundation of The King’s University badminton program, which he has built from the ground up.

Under Naeem’s leadership, his players have earned ACAC Rookie of the Year, ACAC Player of the Year, CCAA All-Canadian honors, and numerous team banners and national titles. The 2024–2025 season is yet another testament to his impact, with King’s securing the most first-place finishes in their program’s history.

Beyond the accolades, Naeem’s greatest contribution is the culture he has built—a program where players are valued, supported, and pushed to be their best both on and off the court. His dedication to the sport and his commitment to player development have helped to build a badminton legacy at King's.

This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2024-25 ACAC Badminton Championship hosted by Concordia University of Edmonton.
