Lakeland Prepares to Welcome ACAC’s Top Men’s Volleyball Teams

Edmonton, AB (February 16, 2025) - The stage is set, and the competition is top-tier! The Lakeland Rustlers, ranked second in the North, are proud to host the Elite Promotional Marketing 2025 ACAC Men's Volleyball Championship from February 20–22, 2025, in Lloydminster. The conference's top teams will battle for the coveted ACAC title and a ticket to the CCAA Men's Volleyball National Championship in Niverville, MB, just 20 minutes south of Winnipeg.

The championship hosts closed out their regular season ranked second in the North with a 14-5 record. Fourth-year outside Brock Tomyn has been a strong leader for the Rustlers all season, and the team will look to him—along with the energy of their loyal fans—to gain an extra competitive edge throughout the championship.

For the second straight season, the Keyano Huskies finished atop the North Division with a 17-2 record, bolstered by several key returning players who are no strangers to a run at the championship title. The NAIT Ooks (N3, 12-7) and the Augustana Vikings (N4, 8-11) round out the North's playoff competitors.

In the South, familiar contenders are back for another shot at the ACAC title. The Red Deer Kings, who finished first in the South for the fourth straight season, enter with a dominant 18-1 record. Fourth-year Colby Nemeth has been a crucial asset for the Kings all season, consistently leading the conference in kills per set (4.65). The Lethbridge Kodiaks (S2, 17-2) are riding a nine-game win streak heading into the postseason, with their only two losses coming against the top two teams, Red Deer and Keyano. They will be hungry for redemption.

Rounding out the championship field are the Olds Broncos (S3, 10-9) and the Briercrest Clippers (S4, 9-10), both looking to make a deep playoff run. The talent across these eight teams is undeniable, setting the stage for an electrifying weekend in Lloydminster.

Lakeland College is ready to welcome the best ACAC men's volleyball programs in the province for an unforgettable weekend of high-stakes competition. Volleyball fans, prepare yourselves for elite action!
