2021-22 ACAC Women's Indoor Track Runner of the Year

Edmonton, AB (March 31, 2022) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Taylor Chamberlin of the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder has been selected as the 2021-22 ACAC Women’s Indoor Track Runner of the Year.
At the first Grand Prix in January, Chamberlin finished first in the Women’s 3000m and 1500m events before helping the Thunder 4x400m team claim a first place finish. In February at the second Grand Prix, Chamberlin put up a second place finish in the Women’s 1000m event, a first place finish in the 1500m event, and led the Women’s 4x200m team to a third place finish and 4x400m to a second place finish. This set up the Conference Championships, where Chamberlin was able to keep the momentum going – claiming silver in the 3000m and 1000m events, gold in the 1500m event, and helped the Thunder win bronze in the 4x200m event and silver in the 4x400m event. Chamberlin’s results also helped Concordia claim the overall Women’s title at the Conference Championships.
On Chamberlin, Concordia Interim Director of Athletics & Recreation, Nate MacLellan commented: “Taylor is an exceptional student-athlete that succeeds both in the classroom and on the track. She continues to improve and I couldn’t be more thrilled to see her progress. She has a great attitude and works hard every time she represents the Thunder. Congratulations on this award, Taylor!”
Before hitting the indoor track, Chamberlin also competed in cross-country where she was named to the ACAC All-Conference Team and was named a CCAA All-Canadian, finished in the top 10 at the ACAC Cross-Country Conference Championship, and helped the Thunder win a Cross-Country Conference Championship and a team silver medal at nationals . From Edmonton, AB, Chamberlin is in her third season representing the Thunder and her fourth season of her Bachelor of Science degree.
This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2022 ACAC Indoor Track Championship hosted by Concordia University of Edmonton in Edmonton, Alberta.
