ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Rachel Stead has had an outstanding start to her season, propelling the Briercrest Women’s Volleyball team to a strong 5-1 record and securing their 1st place standing in the South. Over the past weekend, Rachel was unstoppable, playing a crucial role in the team’s victories against NWP and the previously undefeated TKU. She was highly effective in both attacking and blocking, earning the title of Player of the Game against NWP on November 8, where she posted 12 kills, 1 ace, and 2 blocks. The following day against TKU, Rachel continued her impressive performance with 13 kills, 2 aces, 5 digs, and 3 blocks. A significant highlight this season is her recent milestone of surpassing 100 career stuff blocks, a testament to her defensive skill and consistency.

Now in her 4th year of eligibility, Rachel brings invaluable experience and leadership to the court. Originally from Langley, BC, she is completing her business administration degree at Briercrest. Known for her steady presence, Rachel is a fierce competitor and an exceptional teammate, always ready to put her team first. Her calm demeanor and balanced perspective allow her to stay focused under pressure, encouraging those around her to do the same. Rachel’s dedication, resilience, and commitment to her team’s success make her an inspiring leader and a vital presence on and off the court for Briercrest Women’s Volleyball.
