Running Room Grand Prix #2

CALGARY, AB - During an unseasonably warm 29-degree, mid-September day, ACAC athletes gathered at the West Confederation Park for the Running Room Grand Prix #2, hosted by the SAIT Trojans.

The women kicked off the day starting at noon with a 6 km race. Becky Ross (MHC) was the first ACAC athlete across the finish line, with a time of 23:57. Cadence Laplante (STMU) took second place, crossing the finish line at a time of 24:37. Placing third was another MHC runner, Maddy Scirmger with a respectable time of 24:47.

The men followed, running an 8 km race beginning at 1pm. The Trojans were proud to take first place for the second time this season following the Grand Prix #1, as Maximus Thiessen passed the finish line with an impressive time of 26:05. Leonard Chesoo (CUE) followed behind with a time of 27:36. Ben House (RDP) finished strong with a time of 27:59, coming in third place for the men's division.

The next race takes place September 30th in Lethbridge. The Lethbridge Kodiaks are set to host the Running Room Grand Prix #3. Don't miss the action as the women start at 12pm, and the men are set to follow at 1pm.
