Ooks Win at Home for Final Game of 2024

Saturday night's action saw the visiting Medicine Hat Rattlers take on the NAIT Ooks in a makeup game from January. The first set saw the Ooks get out to an early lead with great plays #6 Charlotte Vandenelzen, #12 Tanisha McQueen and #13 Jessica Zilinski. The Ooks were able to carry their momentum throughout the set to take an early lead.

 

The Ooks lead 1-0.

 

The second set saw the Ooks continue to roll, getting out to another early lead in the set. The Rattlers were able to keep themselves in it with great plays by #12 Kadence Wiggins and #18 Brooklyn Tkachuk. The Ooks were able to hold on after the Rattlers come back from their early deficit.

 

The Ooks lead 2-0.

 

The Rattlers were the ones who got out to the early lead in the third set. The Ooks were able to battle their way back into the set with back-to-back aces by #12 Tanisha McQueen. The Rattlers were unfazed by the oks run, as they were able to maintain a lead for majority of the set, resulting in them extending the game.

 

The Ooks lead 2-1.

 

The fourth set saw both team trading points for the first half of the set, with neither team able to gain much of an advantage. The Rattlers were able to keep their momentum from the third set to tie it up and force a fifth set.

 

The score was tied 2-2.

 

The final set saw both teams trading points until they switched sides half-way through the set. on the doorstep of their first victory of the season, the Ooks were able to pull away late and finish their season off with a win.

 

The Ooks won 3-2.
