Rustlers wrap up regular season with sweep

Lakeland came into Saturday night with a chance to equal their record from a year ago... they didn't disapoint.

The Rustlers hosted the SAIT Trojans for the final regular season match of the year. SAIT had just defeated the Keyano Huskies, but were already eliminated from playoff contention.

Once again, the home team was extremely dominant in the opening set, winning 25-9. SAIT played much better to start the second, but couldn't withstand the serving pressure form the Rustlers. Final set scores were 25-17, 25-14.

Kaylie Lueck was named Player of the Match in her final home appearance. Fellow fifth year LeeAnne Arnott got the nod for SAIT.

With the win, Lakeland is once again 18-1 heading into the postseason, the top seed in the North Division and a heavy favourite to repeat as ACAC Champions. They have a bye week before heading to Lethbridge for the Conference Championship Feb. 22-24.
