Kodiaks Sweep NAIT 3-0

February 9, 2024 - Kodiaks win at home against NAIT Ooks 

The Kodiaks kicked off the game with an assertive lead in the first set, securing the first points. #9 Irina Korovina showcased her prowess with an impressive block early on. Despite the Ooks trailing closely, never more than two points behind, the Kodiaks maintained their lead. Ooks' #13 Jessica Zilinski contributed significantly with 5 kills, prompting a timeout from the Ooks to regroup. However, the Kodiaks remained one step ahead, clinching the set 25-19.

In the second set, the Kodiaks once again took the lead, keeping the Ooks in their wake. #2 Abby Sauder's crucial block added to the Kodiaks' momentum. Though the Ooks displayed great plays, they trailed behind, with Ooks #2 Makenna Doyle delivering a notable kill. Kodiaks' #17 Eryka Woods fortified their position with a powerful block, securing the set 25-22.

Entering the third set, the Ooks showcased resilience, forging ahead after a remarkable comeback in the previous set. Nevertheless, the Kodiaks quickly regained their footing, establishing a significant lead. #6 Aideena Wickstrom contributed a pivotal kill for the Kodiaks. Despite the Ooks' efforts to narrow the gap, they couldn't surpass the Kodiaks, the Kodiaks took the set 25-20 winning the game.
