January 27, 2024 - Kodiaks win in the fifth set against the Olds Broncos 

 

Set 1 saw the Broncos eager to stage a comeback from their previous game. They started strong, gaining an early lead, but the Kodiaks swiftly leveled the score. Despite the Kodiaks' efforts, the Broncos managed to pull ahead, forcing their opponents to call a timeout. Though the Kodiaks made a valiant comeback attempt, they couldn't seize control, and the Broncos clinched the set 25-21. Key players included Kodiaks' #6 Aideena Wickstrom with 2 digs and 2 kills, and Broncos' #5 Sarah Merkosky contributing 1 dig and 3 kills.

In Set 2, the Kodiaks took command from the beginning, maintaining their lead throughout. Although the Broncos fought back to tie the score, the Kodiaks widened the gap, ultimately securing the set 25-22. Notable performances came from Broncos' #12 Sydney Joyce with 2 digs and 4 kills, and Kodiaks' #2 Abby Sauder tallying 5 digs and 3 kills. 

Set 3 kicked off with the Kodiaks grabbing an early lead, closely trailed by the Broncos. The majority of the set remained tightly contested, but the Broncos surged ahead towards the end, prompting the Kodiaks to call a timeout. Despite their efforts, the Kodiaks managed to edge out the Broncos, claiming the set 26-24.

The fourth set saw the Broncos seizing control, establishing a significant lead. Kodiaks #11 Reanna Gage powered 2 digs. Broncos #14 Isabel Crashley seized control with 3 digs 1 kill and 7 assists Although the Kodiaks made several attempts to narrow the gap, the Broncos maintained their dominance, finishing the set with a score of 25-18.

In the decisive fifth set, the Kodiaks started strong, with the Broncos closely behind. As the Kodiaks gained a slight lead, the Broncos called a timeout to regroup. However, the Kodiaks continued to hold their advantage opening the point gap and ultimately winning the set 15-10, securing the match.
