NWP Wolves host Keyano Huskies
Day two of competition between the NWP Wolves and the Keyano Huskies. After a great rally, score is tied up 5-5. Ace serve for Keyano's #15 Karlene Kaminski. Huskies take the 2 point lead. 8-6. Time out is called by NWP. Back to back kills for NWP's #13 Helainia Zeyha and the Wolves fight to close the scoring gap. Kill by NWP's #11 Evangeline Zeyha and the Wolves put up 15 points. They trail Keyano 19-15. A few amazing rallies back and forth with both teams securing points. Wolves keep battling back but trail the Huskies 23-20. Huskies take the first set 25-21.
Set opens with the Wolves taking the lead with a kill from #10 Katie Nashim. NWP takes the lead 6-3. Great block from NWP's #15 Natalie Walde and the Wolves stay in the lead. Kill from Keyano's #9 Megan Polant and the Huskies creep up on the Wolves. Huskies tie it up 10-10. Ace serve from NWP's #11 Evangeline Zeyha and the Wolves bring the score back to their side, 12-11. Wolves keep the two point lead, score is 16-14. Huskies call a time out. A couple of great rally's with Wolves getting the points keeps them ahead by 3 points, score is 18-15. Huskies #15 Karlene Kaminski with a service ace and the Huskies trail by 1. Ace serve from NWP's #10 Katie Nashim makes it 20-17 for the Wolves. Nice kill by NWP's #15 Natalie Walde gives another point for the Wolves. Huskies catch up but the Wolves keep ahead 22-20. NWP calls a time out when the Huskies close the gap and trail by 1. Score 23-22 for NWP. Huskies tie it up 23-23. Great kill by Keyanos #17 Amanda Onyeukwu and Keyano ties it up 24-24. Point for point play but with a block from NWP's #10 Katie Nashim the Wolves take the second set, 27-25.
Third set and its tied up again at 5-5. Huskies manage a two point lead making it 8-6, but with a kill from NWP's #13 Helaina Zeyha the Wolves tie it up again. 8-8. Ace service from #11 Evangeline Zeyha and the Wolves take a 3 point lead, score 12-9. Kill from #17 Amanda Onyeukwu and Huskies trail by 4, score 16-12. Natalie Waldie #15 from NWP gets a kill and keeps the Wolves ahead. Time out called by Huskies when score reaches 21-15 for NWP. Wolves keep the lead 24-17. Huskies battle back but the Wolves take the set 25-19. Third set goes to the Wolves.
Fourth set and Huskies take the lead score is 12-6. Kill from Huskies #9 Megan Polant and Keyano takes the lead to 13-8. NWP digs in but is unable to stop the kill from Huskies # 15 Karlene Kaminski, score 15-10. NWP's #10 Katie Nashim replies with a point for the Wolves. Wolves trail by 3. Huskies call a time out, when NWP starts to catch up. Score 15-13 for Keyano. Kill from NWP #15 Natalie Walde and the Wolves trail by 1 point. Ace serve from NWP's #3 Reese Holeman. Wolves tie it up 18-18. Huskies get the next 2 points and the Wolves call a time out. Score 20-18 for Keyano. Ace serve from NWP's #6 Avery Hucker, Wolves behind by 1 point. Huskies get the set 25-20.
The two teams do a repeat of Friday night and take it to 5 sets. Wolves come from behind and take a -1-point lead, score 5-4. Huskies quickly tie it up 5-5. Service ace from NWP's #3 Reese Holeman and the Wolves make it 7-5. Score is 8-6 for the Wolves at the half way point. Wolves make it a 3 point lead, score 10-7 for NWP. Great block from #13's Helaina Zeyha and Huskies call a time out. Score 11-7 for NWP in this exciting 5th set. NWP's #10 Katie Nashim with a kill makes it 12-8. Followed by and ace serve from NWP's #13 Helania Zeyha. Wolves take the set and the match with a final score of 15-8 for NWP.
