Briercrest College Falls Short Against Ambrose University

In a thrilling match-up between Briercrest College and Ambrose University, volleyball enthusiasts were treated to an intense battle that showcased the incredible skill and determination of both teams. Despite a valiant effort from Briercrest College, it was Ambrose University who emerged victorious, claiming a hard-fought victory in four sets.

The first set saw Ambrose University take control early on, displaying their dominance with powerful serves and precision spikes. Briercrest College fought hard to stay in the game, but Ambrose's strong offense proved too much to handle, resulting in a 25-14 win for the home team. Determined to bounce back, Briercrest College came out firing in the second set. With renewed energy and focus, they managed to keep pace with Ambrose University throughout the set. However, Ambrose's consistency and resilience ultimately paid off as they secured a narrow 25-21 victory, putting them ahead by two sets to none. Refusing to back down, Briercrest College staged a remarkable comeback in the third set. Their efforts were rewarded as they clinched the set with a score of 25-21, keeping their hopes alive in the match. As the fourth set commenced, both teams raised their level of play, knowing that victory was within reach. The set remained tightly contested, with neither team willing to concede an inch. However, it was Ambrose University who managed to maintain their composure in the crucial moments, executing key plays to secure a hard-earned 25-19 win, thus sealing the match with a final score of 3-1 in their favor.

11 Julia Beer had a great game with 17 kills for her team and #18 Alyssa Pavka had great defence for her team with 9 digs. The lions team had some great team play with #13 Elise Wagner, with 17 kills and #8 Willow Lewington with 11 kills. Gracee Fehr had 9 kills and 5 blocks!
