Vikings victorious on road trip to Olds

The University of Alberta-Augustana Vikings completed a perfect weekend on the road, knocking off the Olds College Broncos in straight sets (25-15, 25-11, 25-21) at the Ralph Klein Centre on Saturday.

Shae Boyes turned in a dominant performance with 13 points (10 kills, two aces, one block) and 14 digs for the Vikings (9-3), while Emily Peterson (six kills, one block), Addison Wolosuk (five kills, two blocks) and Grace Haws (three kills, four blocks) each posted seven points in the Augustana win.

For the Broncos (2-10), Kristen Pauls led the way with nine points (five kills, four blocks) and five digs, while Sarah Merkosky contributed five points (three kills), and Hannah Graville (two kills, one block) and Isabel Crashley (three aces) each chipped in with three points.

The Vikings' quest for the ACAC Championship continues on home court as they face the NAIT Ooks, while the Broncos head to Calgary to battle the Ambrose University Lions; both matchups are set for 6 p.m. first serves on Friday, January 19. Both matches will be available to view on ACACTV.ca, as well as on TELUS OptikTV channel 1998.
