Rustlers sweep Vikings in season series to improve to 9-1 before the winter break

CAMROSE, Alta. - Keeping their win streak alive, the Lakeland Rustlers take down the University of Alberta - Augustana Vikings 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 25-13), Friday night at Augustana Gym.

The win extends the Rustlers win streak to six games and they now sit six points back of The King's Eagles for first in the north. Meanwhile, the Vikings drop to a 7-3 record for third in the north.

Avery Bates led the Rustlers to victory with 10 kills, while teammates Lana Matthews and Raegan Nicol added eight kills to their tallies. 

Across the net, the Vikings found offence from Addi Wolosuk with 11 kills and Emily Peterson with 10, while Kari White had 34 assists.

Both teams will take a break over the holiday season before returning to action on January 12th when the Vikings host the SAIT Trojans and the Rustlers hit the road on January 14th against the RDP Queens.
