Keyano Takes Revenge Against the Ooks in Their Second Meeting of The Weekend

On Saturday afternoon, the NAIT Ooks played their second match of the weekend against the visiting Keyano Huskies. The Ooks took home the victory the night prior, and both teams were excited at a second chance to play their northern opponents.

The first set was all Huskies, as the visiting team found themselves up early in the set. Kills from the Huskies' Amanda Onyeukwu assisted the team in pulling ahead. The Ooks used both time-outs in an attempt to disrupt the away team's momentum but could not shake off their rough start. The Huskies won the set 25 – 13. 

The second set saw the Ooks come out strong with a service ace from Egypt Trydal. However, the Huskies quickly regained the lead, quickly capitalizing on Ooks service receiving errors. At 8-3 for the Huskies, the Ooks called a time-out as head Coach Erminia Russo attempted to rally her team. The Huskies continued to push their lead, with kills from Megan Polant and strong defensive plays from setter Erika Box. The Ooks finally found their footing and saw Anna Atcheynum leading the way on attack Ooks won the set 25-22 holding onto their lead with fantastic hits from number six Charlotte Vandenelzen. 

The Huskies quickly took the lead in the fourth set with great kills from number nine Megan Polant. However, the Ooks' defence was gaining momentum with incredible digs from number 1 Mattea Calihoo leading the Ooks to close in on the Huskies' lead. The Huskies held their lead with great blocks from number seventeen Amandam Onyeukwu and nine Megan Polant, winning the set 25-20 and the match 3-1.
