Wolves roar back to down Broncos

The Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves never quit, coming back from two sets down to defeat the Olds College Broncos in five sets (22-25, 15-25, 25-23, 25-18, 15-11) at the Ralph Klein Centre on Saturday.

Evangeline Zeyha led the Wolves (4-5) with 15 points (10 kills, five blocks), while Sarah Soderstrom added 10 points (nine kills, one block) of her own, and setter Aidan Armitage added four kills, 14 digs and 27 assists.

The Broncos (0-9) turned in a strong defensive effort, as Dani Bryant posted 29 digs and Kate Scott added 23 of her own, which she complemented with a 15-point night (13 kills, two aces). Offensively, Julia Pedersen led all attackers with 19 points (16 kills, two blocks, one ace) and Lexi Lafreniere added 16 points (14 kills, two blocks) and 10 digs of her own.

The victory sends the Wolves into the Christmas break, while the Broncos head south for a double-header with the Medicine Hat College Rattlers beginning Friday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. and concluding Saturday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m.

Both matches will be available to watch on ACACTV.ca, as well as on TELUS OptikTV channel 1998.
