Women's Volleyball Huskies surge past Lions on home court

Fort McMurray, Alta. (November 17) - Ambrose University Lions 0 Keyano Huskies 3 (26-24, 25-22, 27-25)

The Keyano Huskies Women's Volleyball team didn't give the Ambrose University Lions the kindest of welcomes to the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre, claiming a straight-sets victory Friday night in Fort McMurray, Alta. 

The largest difference in any of the three sets was three points, a testament to the competitiveness in the match, with the Huskies finding the edge each time. 

Megan Polant's 10 kills led the way for the Huskies, with Amanda Onyeukwu and Hannah Shelemey each adding four kills to the Huskies' offensive totals. Shelemey added 10 digs while Erika Box picked up 10 assists in setting duties for the Huskies.

On the visitors' side of the ball, Gracee Fehr's four kills led the way among members of the Lions. Rachel Barg had a team-leading eight digs to go along with her six assists. 

The Huskies will remain on the home court, hosting the Lethbridge College Kodiaks on Saturday evening while the Lions will head south to Lloydminster to challenge the Lakeland Rustlers.
