Queens Beat Ooks in Three at Home

On Saturday night, the NAIT Ooks played against the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens at the NAIT gymnasium.

In the first set, Ooks and the Queens continued to trade point for point until the Queens slowly began to pull ahead with great hits from number eight Lauren Junck. The Ooks were struggling and called the first timeout of the match in hopes of shifting their momentum. The Ooks were making their way out of a massive point deficit, managing to tie the set. However, it didn't last long. 

Queens won the set 25-19 and led the match 1-0 after the first set.

In the second set, Ooks had taken the lead early with fantastic defensive blocks from number twelve Tanisha McQueen. The Queens continued to battle and managed to tie the setup and take the lead with a great hit from number nine Jaiden Ferguson. The Ooks, yet again, were struggling defensively against the Queens' offensive plays. Queens managed to hold their lead.

Queens won the set 25-19 and led the match 2-0 after the second set.

In the third set, The Ooks started the set off with a massive kill from number six Charlotte Vandenelzen and only continued to grow their lead with great offensive kills and blocks. However, the Queens quickly broke through the Ooks' defence and took the lead swiftly with great hits from number eight Lauren Junck. Queens held their lead, winning the set.

Queens win the set 25-15, winning the match 3-0
