Women's Volleyball Huskies bounce back with straight-sets win against Thunder

Fort McMurray, Alta. (October 28) - Concordia Thunder 0 Keyano Huskies 3 (25-12, 28-26, 25-21)

The Keyano Huskies Women's Volleyball team roared back from a five-set loss Friday to dominate in a straight-sets victory against the Concordia Thunder Saturday afternoon at the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray, Alta. 

A trio of Huskies finished with double-digit kills, led by a 12-kill performance from Megan Polant. Sofia Janzen and Karlene Kaminski finished with 10 kills each while Amanda Onyeukwu came close to making it a quartet with nine kills on her day. 

Hannah Shelemey led the Huskies with 13 digs in the match, two ahead of teammate Erika Box and three ahead of Kaminski. Renae Regal led the Thunder with 17 digs, edging out teammate Jolene Cooke. Kara McIntyre finished in double-digits for digs with 10 of her own as part of a 63-dig performance for the visiting Thunder. 

The Huskies will make their longest road trip of the regular season next weekend, travelling to face the Medicine Hat College Rattlers and Briercrest College Clippers. The Thunder will take on a pair of South Division opponents as well next weekend, facing the Olds College Broncos and SAIT Trojans.
