Clippers cruise past Broncos in Olds

The Briercrest College Clippers were in control from the opening serve, defeating the Olds College Broncos in three sets (25-12, 25-15, 25-10) in the Broncos' home opener at the Ralph Klein Centre on Friday.

Briercrest player of the game Bailey Opseth controlled the tempo of the matchup nicely, finishing with 21 assists while also throwing in seven digs, a kill and an ace. Julia Beer was the primary beneficiary on offence, finishing with a game-high 10 kills to go with an ace and two blocks while Brooklyn Buhler was strong from the service line, finishing with four aces to go with five kills and six digs for the Clippers (2-1).

For the Broncos (0-3), Lexi Lafreniere led with four kills and two digs, while player of the game Kate Scott added a pair of kills to go with five digs; libero Dani Bryant added a team-high 10 digs.

The Clippers and Broncos will complete the back half of their weekend doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Olds, which can be watched on ACACTV.ca and channel 1998 on TELUS OptikTV.
