RDP wins in four sets over SAIT

The SAIT Trojans women's volleyball team lost in four sets to Red Deer Polytechnic on Friday night, pushing their record on the new season to 1-2. With the win, the RDP Queens' record now sits at a perfect 2-0.

All four sets were close, RDP won the first two sets 25-20 and 25-21, SAIT won a grueling third set 30-28, and the Queens finished it off with a 25-18 fourth set win.

SAIT went down 8-3 early in the first and couldn't quite battle back, chipping away at the lead but not having enough points to mount the full comeback. The Trojans made it 22-19 late, but the set ended 25-20 in favour of the Queens.

#18 Jadyn Boyles did her best to try and tie the match up in the second set, getting many of her 12 kills on the match, but a late surge by the Queens gave them a 25-21 set victory to go up 2-0.

The Trojans fought extremely hard in the third, which was a crazy back and forth set that ended in a 30-28 victory for SAIT. #6 LeeAnne Arnott showed out in the set, with multiple kills and points contributing to her leading the Trojans in both categories by the end of the game.

Red Deer answered back in the fourth and final set, though, as they killed the Trojan's momentum and got out to an early 8-3 lead again. The Trojans did all they could but couldn't bring it back, losing the fourth set 25-18 and the match 3-1.

SAIT will be back in action tomorrow, this time at Red Deer, looking to get revenge on the Queens and improve their record to an even 2-2.
