Clippers complete weekend sweep in Olds

The Briercrest College Clippers completed a weekend sweep of the Olds College Broncos with a straight set (25-19, 25-15, 25-16) victory at the Ralph Klein Centre on Saturday.

Julia Beer picked up Player of the Game honours for Briercrest (3-1) as she led her team in both kills (11) and digs (nine) in the matchup, then adding an ace and two blocks. Summer Okerstrom turned in a strong match at the net with four blocks to go with five kills, which Faith Buhler did her damage while on serve, picking up a game-high four aces.

For the Broncos (0-3), setter Kaycee Conan was the team's Player of the Game after registering seven assists and two kills in two sets of play; Kate Scott paced the Broncos with six kills, while Kalyna Bahler posted a team-high eight digs in the matchup.

From here, the Clippers head home for a doubleheader with the Medicine Hat College Rattlers beginning Friday at 6 p.m., while the Broncos travel to Calgary to battle the SAIT Trojans at Rally Pointe, with first serve also scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday.
