TKU Eagles sweep Huskies on road to move to 2-0

Fort McMurray, Alta. (October 14, 2023) - TKU Eagles 3 at Keyano Huskies 0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-11)

The King's University Eagles took care of business again Saturday, moving to 2-0 on the 2023-24 season with a straight-sets victory (25-16, 25-17, 25-11) against the Keyano Huskies Women's Volleyball team in Fort McMurray, Alta. Saturday afternoon. 

Brooke Risselada led her side with nine kills, adding 11 digs and three blocks. Teammates Ashley Krause and Ashley Lockwood each contributed seven kills in the win. McMurrayite MacKenzie Bruce added five kills and nine digs in her hometown. 

Kylan Finseth handled setting duties for the Eagles with 25 assists and eight digs. 

Hannah Shelemey and Karlene Kaminski finished tied for the team lead on the Huskies with four kills each. Raisa Stokes added 11 digs with Kaminski totalling eight and Megan Polant seven. 

Up next for the Huskies is a trip down to Camrose to take on the Universit of Alberta - Augustana Vikings next weekend. The Eagles will return home to play their home opener, hosting the NWP Wolves in action next Friday and Saturday.
