Women's Volleyball Huskies sweep away Vikings

The Keyano Huskies Women's Volleyball team put the finishing touches on another weekend sweep Saturday afternoon, taking care of the University of Alberta – Augustana Vikings in straight sets (25-10, 25-11, 25-14).

Megan Polant led the Huskies' charge in the match with 11 kills, which led all players on both sides of the court. Rebecca Maxwell added seven kills while Lauren Huntley and Karlene Kaminski each had five.

While they came through strong on the offensive side of the ball, the Huskies also won the defensive battle with 13 blocks to two for the Vikings.

Kyra Rawlusyk and Sarah Singular each had four kills to lead their side.

Raisa Stokes led the team with nine digs while Maxwell had eight blocks. Rookie Sofia Janzen added a trio of her own blocks in the match. Kaminski came close to joining Stokes in the double-digit dig category, with nine.

Polant also led the Huskies with four service aces throughout the match.

For her efforts, Polant was named Player of the Game while Grace Haws picked up the honours for the visiting Vikings.
