Huskies handle Broncos in Olds

The Keyano College Huskies charged out of the gates and didn't look back, taking down the Olds College Broncos in straight sets at the Ralph Klein Centre on Friday night.

Player of the Game Karlene Kaminski got into double digits for kills with 10 on 20 attempts to go along with six digs for the Huskies (3-2), while Tyneille Neufeld added eight kills and 10 digs for the Huskies.

For Olds College (0-5), Tabitha Martin led the charge with five kills and eight digs, while Kendall Pavicic added four kills and three digs. Meanwhile, Lexi Lafreniere (two kills, four digs) was the Broncos' player of the game.

Keyano College set the tone early by going up 7-1 in the first set, then keeping their foot on the gas to take a 25-13 win to go up, then remained relentless as they posted identical 25-18 margins in the second and third sets to close out the match.

The Huskies head further down the Deerfoot tomorrow to battle the SAIT Trojans, while the Broncos will welcome the Lakeland College Rustlers to Olds tomorrow at 6 p.m.
