Broncos Women’s Volleyball comes back to win 3-2 over Rattlers

Olds, AB 

Olds College Broncos won 3-2 over the Medicine Hat Rattlers (24-26, 14-25, 25-20, 25-22, 15-4) on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the Ralph Klein Centre. 

The Olds College Broncos and Medicine Hat Rattlers went point for point in the first set. The Broncos Averi Gill and Sydney Joyce did a phenomenal job at the net. While Leftside, Sarah Singular and Outside Kennedy Galloway did the same for the Rattlers. The Rattlers had the edge and won the set 26-24. 

Sydney Joyce with the Broncos had a couple incredible kills straight down the line that were unstoppable. Averi Gill and Avery Stoddart worked wonders at the net for the Broncos in this set. Again, Sarah Singular had some great kills for the Rattlers and really put Francesca Sandini to work for the Broncos. The Broncos were a little off balance this set allowing the Rattlers to win it 25-14. 

The Broncos we're able to re-group and worked really hard as a team to take the third set from the Rattlers with a score of 25-20. The Rattlers played strong with Setter, Jordi Hazen doing well to set up her teammates for strong kills. The Broncos team work allowed them to stay in the game and head to the fourth set. 

The fourth set saw more back and forth rallies for both teams. The Broncos Tabitha Martin and Averi Gill saw success with some big kills for the Broncos all set up by Avery Stoddart. Shelby Eberts and Jordi Hazen played strongly for the Rattlers. The Broncos were able to win the set 25-22.  

The fifth and final set, the Broncos came out to win and were successful in their mission. Olds College takes the final set with a score of 15-4. 

The player of the game for the Medicine Hat Rattlers was number 3, Shelby Eberts and the player of the game for the Olds College Broncos was number 7, Averi Gill.
