Rodney nets four in final game as Huskies put up 10 on Rustlers

Fort McMurray, Alta. (October 22, 2023) - Lakeland Rustlers 1 Keyano Huskies 10

The Keyano Huskies Women's Soccer team closed the books on their regular season with an emphatic 10-1 victory against the Lakeland College Rustlers.

With both teams already locked into their spot in the standings, there wasn't any change to be made, but the Huskies still used the match as a statement game before next Thursday's quarter-final matchup.

Marissa Mestre opened the scoring in the 12th minute of the contest, one of her two goals on the day. That was followed by Felicia Rodney's first of the game. Rodney would add goals in the 55th, 69th, and 90th minutes to cap off her ACAC Regular Season career. Mestre scored in the 81st minute to complete her two-goal game. Also scoring a pair was Harleen Singh as she struck in the 71st and 80th minutes of Sunday's game.

Nathalie Andersson and Madison Tyson added single strikes to round out the scoring for the home side. Leah Rioux scored the lone goal for the Rustlers in the loss.

The Huskies will now prepare for the 2023 ACAC Women's Soccer Championships, which begin Thursday in Edmonton. The Women hit the pitch at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26 at the Soccer Dome in Edmonton, Alta.
