Rattlers Fall to Trojans in Home Finale

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon for some footy, the SAIT Trojans paid a visit to MHC to battle with the Rattlers. The Trojans got an early corner and converted on a header from Kaylin Bensler in the very 1st minute. The Trojans controlled position the next 25 minutes but were unable to convert possession into any goals. A counter attack for the Rattlers got them the equalizer in the 33nd minute off an original blocked shot. Maísa Rebello converted on the rebound and beat the keeper at her near post to tie it up 1-1 heading into halftime.

The 2nd half started with the Trojans again creating the majority of the chances and were rewarded with a goal in the 54th minute by Jordyn Morris. The Rattlers pushed hard for an equalizer but were denied a penalty kick in the 90th minute off a questionable no call. The game would finish 1-1.

The Player of the Game for the Rattlers was goalkeeper Abby Lalach who made 9 saves in the loss but many of them high quality. For SAIT it was Kaylin Bensler. The Rattlers head to Lethbridge for their final game of the season on Sunday while the Trojans await their final placement in the standings heading into next weekends conference championships.
