NAIT Ooks Soar Past The Voyageurs With a 4-0 Win.

Chilly afternoon as the NAIT Ooks battle on their home turf at St. Albert Soccer Association against the Portage College Voyageurs. It is the second time the teams are facing off this season, as the NAIT Ooks came out on top with a 4-0 win when they first met on Sept. 15, 2023. Both teams started great, and at the 8-minute mark, NAIT Ooks' #2 Sarah Weremczuk opened the scoring from a corner kick, giving her team a 1-0 lead. The Voyageurs did not let up as they put pressure on NAIT's defense, having a free kick that just flew beside the net. With NAIT's superb efforts to put the ball in the net, the heroics of Portage's goalkeeper #29 Elizabeth McLeod did not let any single one of them go in.

Halftime adjustments of both coaches for NAIT and Portage caused them to enter the 2nd half with a more aggressive approach from both sides, resulting in a couple of shots by NAIT that just missed the net. Portage, on the other hand, made some passes to get a shot that NAIT played to intercept. The action never stops as #4 Sasha Pietramala scored a goal in the 70th minute of the game. The Voyageurs came back with a free kick and a few offensive plays for a chance to score a goal that just missed the net. Another goal was scored by #7 Allison Martineau for the NAIT Ooks to put her team up 3-0. An amazing shot resulted in a goal by #6 Lamisi Sirett for the NAIT Ooks, extending their lead to 4-0. The Voyageurs matched their tenacity toward the conclusion of the game, intercepting the passes of the opponent to disrupt their offensive tactics.

The players of the game are #4 Sasha Pietramala for NAIT and #11 Ashley Hennenfent for Portage.
