Women's Soccer Huskies draw with Thunder in Fort McMurray

In a battle of top teams in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) North Division, the Concordia Thunder and Keyano College Huskies will have to wait one more day until determining who is the top team in their division.

An goal in the second minute by Madison Gamache put the visiting Thunder ahead 1-0. In the 25th minute, they doubled that lead thanks to Audrey French who put the hosts on their heels.

However, fortunes changed for the home side in the 30th minute as Nathalie Andersson cut the deficit in half. Just before halftime, the Huskies levelled the score off a free kick from Harleen Singh.

While both teams traded near chances in the second half, neither found the back of the net as both Delanie Berrette of the Huskies and Madison Kempster took a single point away for their squads.

Madison Tyson of the Huskies and Eva Panchuk of the Thunder earned the Player of the Game honours for their respective sides.

The two sides will reconvene at 11:45 a.m. Sunday.
