Kodiaks Remain Perfect

The Kodiaks coming out hot has become a reacurring theme this season with this game being much the same. They hemmed Augustana in their half and rung one off the post in the first few minutes. This pressure mounted when the Kodiaks finally broke through with #16 Malorie Hanson taking it up the middle herself and putting it past the keeper. The Kodiaks didn't stop there adding two more goals within the coming plays which saw #20 Raeleen Vanden Dungen getting her first of the game off a cross into the box from #9 Ana Waurnchuk. Their third goal on the following possession saw #16 Malorie Hanson getting her secong goal of the half with another great pass from #9 Ana Waurnchuk. The Kodiaks tacked on another two goals before the half closed out (#10 Kenley Matishak assited by #14 Montanna Rousselle as well as a penalty kick from #20 Raeleen Vanden Dungen for her second of the game. Kodiaks lead 5-0 at the end of the first.

The Vikings pressed early in the second with good midfield touches attempting to find a weak spot in the Kodiaks defense. The Kodiaks scored again soon after (#8 Kyra Piekema assisted by #13 Nikki Stahl.) Lethbridge added two more goals in the second with #8 Kyra Piekema getting her second of the half asssisted by #20 Raeleen Vanden Dungen as well as an unassisted goal from #25 Ashly Vera Runquist on the last play of the game. The Vikings fought hard throughout the game but were ultimately defeated 8-0 by the Kodiaks.
