Rattler Women Take Home Opener

In the first game for both teams of the 2023/24 ACAC season, it was Rattlers forward  Jaycee Berggren (1st year, Moose Jaw, SK, Pre-Dental Hygeine) who stole the show with a hat trick in the first half with goals coming in 16th, 23rd and 34th minute. Prior to the first goal, Rattlers 'keeper Abby Lalach (1st year, Cranbrook, BC, Education) was given a yellow card after taking down a Broncos attacker on what looked like a breakaway for Olds. Olds failed to score on the resulting set piece and or in the rest of the first half.

The second half started with Olds on the front door and would eventually be rewarded with a goal from 35 yards from Kami Tams over the head of the Rattlers keeper. The Rattlers responded with a goal they scored on their own from international student-athlete Keandra Leslie (1st year, Kingston, Jamaica, UT: Science) notching her first goal of her ACAC career with a shot from the top of the penalty area. To finish the day off, on a through ball from Maisa Rebello (4th year, Rio de Janeiro, Business Administration) an Olds defender tries to intercept the ball but did so and put the ball into her own net to seal their teams fate with a final score of 5-1

The Tiki Press Player of the game for the Ratters was Jaycee Berggren and for the Broncos was Kami Tams. The Rattlers host RDP tomorrow while the Broncos travel west to take on the Lethbridge Kodiaks on Sunday.
