WSOC | Kodiaks Start the Season off Strong

Kodiaks worked hard keeping the Queens pinned on their half of the field while the Queens worked hard trying to slip through the Kodiaks defense. Queens mounted an attack later in the half with two free kicks that were ultimately turned away by Kodiaks defense. Kodiaks #16 Malorie Hanson created chaos in front with several chances to score but left the Queens goalie shaken up. Queens fought hard but it was not enough to keep the Kodiaks away. Kodiaks scored their first goal of the season finishing the half with a score of 1-0 for the Kodiaks.

Kodiaks picked up where they left off in the first half, getting a penalty kick by #13 Nikki Stahl gaining her second goal of the game. Following soon after Queens made an attempt to gain a lead, thanks to #13 Isabel Anthony she scored the first goal for the Queens bring the score up to 1-2 for Red Deer. Queens pressed towards the end of the game keeping play in the Kodiaks half for the better part of the second half. The half concluded with a score of 2-1 for the Kodiaks gaining them their first win of the season.
