Orellana's goal lifts Huskies over Eagles

The Keyano Huskies Women's Soccer team moved to 2-0-0 on the 2023 outdoor season after claiming a 1-0 victory Saturday in Fort McMurray against the visiting King's University Eagles.

After a scoreless first half, Natalie Orellan struck off the rebound from a free kick in the 56th minute for the only source of offence from either side in the game.

"I feel like our team worked really hard on the field and off the field for this," Natalie Gray said. "We had a really good recovery yesterday and that helped us get this win today."

Huskies goalkeeper Delanie Berrette saw action in net for a second straight game, keeping her opponents off the scoresheet.

The win confirmed a six-point weekend for the Huskies following a 3-0 win Friday night on the same field.

Gray earned Player of the Game honours for the home side while Cameryn Hrycun took the honours for the visiting Eagles.
